Ezine advertising is one of the many forms of online advertising. An ezine is an online magazine and there are several ways that you can place ads that will be read by the ezines subscribers and visitors to the site. How successful your ads will be depends on the ezines you choose, the products and/or services that you market, the advertisement itself and last, but definitely not least, the ezine advertising service that you choose to work with. It’s important that you do a little research before just jumping into any ezine. Here are some tips that you can follow.

First of all, come up with a list (as long as possible) with all of the ezines that are related to your niche. Make sure you note how big each subscriber list is, how often each newsletter is sent out and the prices charged for ads. To decide whether an ezine is a good pick, check to make sure its web page is not on a free platform like Blogger or Wordpress.com or Yahoo hosting. Make sure that they clearly state what they offer in terms of advertising.

As far as the emails you will be getting from each ezine, first make sure that you must opt-in two times in order to receive the newsletter. This ensures that the subscriber base is responsive. Also, check to see that the publisher informs you of the types of email addresses that they can accept. Many email providers block spam.

If the ezine won’t allow you to use some of these, this is a good thing. It means that emails will be delivered to recipients rather than to the junk box. If you are receiving one or more email per day from the ezine, you don’t want to advertise with them. That’s too much competition. And you only want to go with the ones that have “real” subject lines provided by the advertiser and not by the publisher. You want to be able to create your own subject line for your ads. Check out the content of the newsletters you are receiving. If it is valuable content and not just ads, then it’s worth going for.

If you have a low budget, you will want to bid low and on uncompetitive keywords (terms that people aren’t searching for very much). Luckily, it’s easy to find out what the uncompetitive keywords are in any of the search engines that you advertise on. They will provide you with the tools that help you identify keywords. Once you start getting some traffic and making money, you can gradually start to bid more on the keywords.

Ezine advertising prices vary greatly as well. The price you pay for advertising on an ezine depends on the size and quality of the subscriber list so you will need to research the best ezines and possibly go through some trial and error before you find some that consistently perform. Banner advertising is a way to promote your products on other sites that are ranked well in the search engines and not direct competitors. In order to perform effective internet advertising, you first need to understand your target market. It doesn’t matter what business you are in or what products/services you offer. If you are unable to learn what your potential customers are looking for, you might as well not even waste the money on advertising. So spend some time researching your target market until you have their wants and needs crystal clear in your mind.

Put yourself in your audience’s shoes. They probably receive pages and pages of spam every day. If you are sending out email advertisements, you need to figure out a way to distinguish yourself from the rest of the hype. One easy way to do this is to not be “hypey” yourself. Effective internet advertising is professionally written and designed. Make sure you don’t have any grammatical or spelling errors, don’t use too many colors or fonts and try to use some “proven effective” shades as well.

Remember that your ad must have a “call to action”. Many advertisers forget this important step. After you’ve peaked your target audience’s curiosity and sold them on your benefits, you need to tell them what to do. Show them where to click so that they will be directed back to your website or wherever it is that you want to lead them. Always have a way for the reader to get in contact with you. Don’t make them search for it.

Incorporate an opt-in form to your advertisement. This is where your reader will fill in his/her details. Offering a free trial or free informational guide are some ways to get your reader to fill out the opt-in contact information. Don’t make him/her fill in too much information. The more they are required to put in, the more they are likely to just not enter in their information.

The response you get is also enhanced with your personal touch. If you can follow up by making a phone call to each of the new members on your customer lead list, you are miles ahead of the game in terms of establishing your trust-worthiness and credibility.

If you develop the attitude that you are going to make money online and realize that you have to put in the effort to do it. You will be amazed at the results you will get.

It will most likely start small but even starting small will boost your ego and improve your attitude.  With a better attitude you will put in more effort and more effort will result in more profits.  This in turn will give your ego another bump and your profits climb again.

This cycle will repeat until you suddenly find that you aren’t working as hard to make the same amount or more money.

A few things that will destroy your attitude:

Selling a product that you would be mad about buying, these type of products will get a bunch of complaints from your customers and this negative attitude will infect you.

Setting your goals at an unrealistic level, completely failing in your goals is a definite energy stealer.  Don’t expect to make $11,000 in your first week.  It’s not going to happen.  Make your goals realistic and obtainable.

Don’t expect to do absolutely no work; you will have to put in the effort to succeed.  Hopefully you will have picked something that you love to do.

Don’t think you know everything; you really need to know what you don’t know and then either learn what you don’t know or hire somebody that does know it.

Ok, now it is time for the truth!

There is no product that will make you a fortune without you putting in the effort to make it succeed. PERIOD.

Can you make a six figure income online?

Yes you can!

Will you be able to do it without doing any work?

No you can’t!

Can you make $10,000 in the next 30 days?

Yes you can but…

…to make $10,000 in the next 30 days one of two things has most probably happened. Either you spent the last six months to a year building up to this or you spend $9,000 to make the $10,000 some people even spend more than $10,000 to make $10,000.

Just a minute…

…you saw the screen the screen shot of the persons income on the sales page. They have to be making that much money.

First off screen shots can be faked but even if they aren’t faked they don’t show you the entire story.

For example: There are a number of people selling products that tell you how to make a fortune with ClickBank® using Adwords® they show you screen shots or even video of their income. Yes, they might be making that much money through ClickBank® but that isn’t the whole story.

To see the whole story you will have to go back in time to when they first started.

They set up their Adwords® account, found a product to promote and started promoting. Did they make money right away? Not likely, but even if they did you have to remember that Adwords bills you at the end of the month and ClickBank® won’t pay you for six weeks. This means that if you have a $3000 bill with Adwords® you still have to pay that before you receive any of your money from ClickBank®. They didn’t tell you that did they.

I have also seen products where they tell you they made over a million dollars using Adwords®. Again this could be true but I am willing to bet that the million dollars is gross income and not net. I personally purchased a rather expensive product that claimed this. Once I got into the product I saw that yes there was income over a million dollars but guess what there were expenses over a million dollars too. The net income was still over six figures but it was divided among a group of people.

But let’s get back to the beginning of this Adwords®/ClickBank® career. Like I said earlier, it is unlikely that they actually made money from their very first campaigns unless they spent some time learning how to optimize their ads to obtain great quality scores (which lowers their prices). They spent more time learning how to write the ads that get the clicks and even more time testing and tracking these ads to get them to be profitable.

So now that you have purchased the product you should be able to do the same thing without doing any work, right? I mean after all they have figured it all out for you.

The answer to that is no, you will have to do as much work to start out as they did because no two niches are the same and they aren’t going to give you all the information about their niche because they don’t want the competition and they don’t want to lose the income.

Does this mean that you can’t learn from the course and start making a decent income?

Absolutely not.

It just means that you have to cut through all the hype and figure out what they aren’t telling you, like the example of telling you they make X amount of money with Adwords® but they don’t tell you how much they spend or how long it took to get to that point.

Once you cut through the hype filled emotional triggers of the sales page remember you will have to do some work to actually achieve any results and it doesn’t matter what the product is or what it promises.

The key thing to remember with any product you purchase is this, “If it won’t move YOU closer to your goals, if it isn’t the next step in your process, you don’t need it now!”

Don’t burn yourself out and become disillusioned by purchasing every product that promises big bucks. More than half of them will disappear in a few months never to be heard from again. That is how some people make their six figure income solely by selling you products that don’t work that tell you how to make six figures.

Set some goals, make a plan, take action and follow that plan. Focus on what you need right now and not what you might need in the future because if you don’t fill in the now you will never get to the future.
