Basics Of The Internet And Advertising – Can Make You Money
No matter how big or small your business is, and no matter how old or new, you can only succeed if people know about it. Whether you do this through radio, television, the newspaper, word of mouth, or over the internet; it is absolutely vital to the success of your business. After all, you may have the best product anywhere, but if nobody is aware of it, then it’s the same as not having it at all. Regardless of which methods you are using now, the internet and advertising are ideal for marketing your product or service.
While not everyone on the planet is on the internet, there is an amazing number of people who have access to it. There has never been anything like it in history. It gives you the potential to have customers all around the world. People go online for all kinds of reasons, and most of those reasons go hand-in-hand with the internet and advertising. For example, people often log on to the web to find solutions to their problems. If you are able to offer a solution they are willing to pay for, then you have just made a sale!
Another great thing about advertising online is that you can gather tons of useful information about your site’s visitors. Where they are from, what operating system they’re using, they’re web browser, how long they stayed on your site and what links they clicked are just a few of the things you can find out; each of which can help you to market more effectively.
When it comes to the internet and advertising you have the ability to easily change your marketing message, and it costs virtually nothing to make those changes. But, you don’t have to just guess what changes to make because you can track the results of all of your changes. You do this by using what’s known as ‘split testing’. This is where you make a change or two to something, then compare it to a control. Then you keep whichever performed better, and that becomes the control for your next split test. By repeating these steps you can see major increases in your bottom line.
The low barrier to entry is another benefit of advertising online. There are many methods you can try for no cost at all. Now, these may take longer than the paid options, but they are an excellent way to get started and see what happens. However, don’t let the low barrier fool you. You still need to take online marketing seriously. Give careful consideration to who your target market is, and the message you are using to reach them. This is just another aspect of running your business, and should be treated as such.
The internet and advertising are an almost perfect match. In fact, there isn’t any reason for you to not add online advertising to your overall marketing plan. It’s easy, it’s inexpensive, and best of all…it’s effective.

Internet Marketing Versus Traditional Advertising
Old-fashioned advertising isn’t going anywhere any time soon, but is definitely felt the impact of the new kid on the block, namely internet marketing. the big problem for marketing firms is how new the internet is. Sure, it has been around for over a decade now, but it is still maturing, and people who use the internet still haven’t settled into a reliable pattern that traditional advertisers can readily react to.
This is good news for all of the people trying to make their living online. How so? Well, it means that a regular guy or gal can compete with well-established companies. On the internet playing field, the winner is the one who can connect with their site’s visitors the best. But it goes even deeper than that.
The really big companies tend to move more slowly. That’s not normally a problem, but the online world moves far too quickly for them to always respond in the best way. A big company has an entrenched corporate culture that it has to convince. The regular person does not.
A single person running an online business can make changes as they see fit, whenever the urge strikes them. Those who really understand internet marketing are constantly making changes then tracking the results. If the changes have a positive impact, then they incorporate them, and then try something else that’s new.
But none of this means that regular advertising is a bad thing. In fact, all of the basic principles used in internet marketing were developed by traditional advertisers. However, the medium has a major effect on how the message is perceived by a target audience.
The internet still has a certain wild feel about it. It is still trying to find its feet, so to speak. But at the same time, it is in a constant state of change. Slow moving companies are getting left behind. Even companies that seem to move quickly in the brick and mortar world can be slow to respond to changes happening online. Again, the sole proprietors who can make instant decisions and take a “see what happens” attitude are the ones who are poised to do the best.
It is a two way street, however, as the big companies are paying attention to what the “little guy” is doing. Granted, they don’t always get it right, but they do notice, and respond in a way they think is best. But, because they have such a large budget, they can absorb the occasional costly mistake. The average person can’t afford to lose a lot of money, so this gives them an added incentive to do things the right way.
Never before has the playing field been so even. Internet marketing is a great equalizer, and puts the potential for profits in the reach of anybody willing to learn how to do it right. It’s hard to say what the future holds in store, but right now is a great time to get into internet marketing.

A Plan For Effective Internet Marketing
Internet marketing isn’t always the easiest thing to do. However there is one key to effective internet marketing that far too many people overlook. So, what is it that they don’t do? They don’t make a plan. To be fair, a lot of internet marketers think they have a plan, but saying “I’m going to make some money” is not a plan.
Perhaps that’s one of the primary reasons why franchises are so popular. They present a very detailed plan for just about every aspect of running a business. But we are talking about internet marketing, not a traditional bricks and mortar business. So, what you really need for effective internet marketing is a business plan.
Let’s be blunt, creating a business plan is going to take time and effort. Without one, however, you will be wandering aimlessly through your business and bringing in money in a way that’s too hit or miss. You may do okay without one, but you won’t see your full profit potential unless you have a business plan in place. Think of it as the difference between having a hobby and having a real business that makes you money. If you want it to be a hobby, then that’s up to you; maybe you don’t really need a plan.
Your plan is a sort of road map to help you define and reach your goals. A good way to start your business plan is to think of where you want to end up, then start working backwards from there. What steps will you have to take? How much will you make? How will you make it? How much will you invest? What marketing methods will you use to promote your online business? Answering questions like these will help you make a good plan.
The questions you ask are important. Try to think of as many aspects of your business as you can. And when answering, be as detailed and specific as you can. In fact, if you find you are giving vague answers, take that as a sign that you need to give your business plan for effective internet marketing more thought.
Once you have asked and answered the necessary questions, it’s time to start organizing your plan. Try to arrange things in a logical way so they make more sense. Be as linear as possible. You should also divide your plan into short, medium and long term goals. This will help you to stay on track as your business grows.
You should be ready to make revisions to your plan as needed, but don’t make those changes lightly. However, your business is going to grow, and you won’t be able to predict how things turn out with 100% accuracy. So you need to be able alter your plan if the situation warrants it. Remember, your business plan isn’t written in stone and is there to work for you, not against you.
As you can see, one of the keys to effective internet marketing is to have a business plan. IT could be argued that if you don’t have such a plan, then you don’t really have a business. If you are just doing this for a hobby, that’s fine, but if you want to make money like a real business, then you need to treat it like one.

Earn More Money – But Do It Right
If you want to earn more money you will probably be like most people and think about turning to the internet to find some way to make money. That’s a good choice too. There are a lot of ways of making some extra money online and most of them don’t take much time or money to get started.
You can choose to make a few hundred dollars online or make enough to permanently quit your day job but if you want something more long term you’ll want to start an online business. There are several types of businesses you can start but an affiliate marketing business is a great choice for many reasons.
For one thing you won’t need very much money to start. Since your main job is to drive traffic to the website you were given when you signed up (for free) to become an affiliate, and there are some very inexpensive ways to do that, it’s cheap to get started. You don’t have to maintain inventory or worry about customer service, that is all handled by the affiliate company you sign up with.
There are many affiliates who make more in a week than most people make in a month, and that is well within your reach, as long as you’re willing to invest the time to learn how it all goes together.
You see, one big downside of the internet is that there is a ton of hype. You have to constantly be on the lookout to not get sucked into this hype. If you do you’ll expect to be making a lot of money in very little time and with very little effort. When one thing doesn’t work you’ll just skip to something else, over and over again and you’ll never make any money online.
Another thing is to not get too caught up in the online forums. No matter what type of product or service you choose to build your business around there is bound to be an online forum related to that topic.
Spending time there can be very helpful in many ways but if you go overboard you also run the risk of wasting a lot of time or falling victim to the negative people you will come into contact with there. Use your forum time sparingly.
You won’t need much money to get started with building an online business but you will need some. You should start by getting some education. There are many great courses that can show you how to learn the skills of making money online. Find one and learn all the skills you need to learn than put those skills into practice on a consistent basis and you can make as much money online as you want.
If you go about it the right way you can do way more than just make some extra money online, you can completely change your financial life. If you’re currently working at a job that you don’t love and don’t even make very much money at, you can make more money and have more fun with an online business.
So if you want to earn more money or if you want to build a huge ongoing income, the internet is a great place to find your niche and build an extremely profitable business.

Video Marketing Concepts – Basics Work Every Time
When it comes to learning the basic video marketing concepts they are pretty much the same as all marketing concepts. You want to answer the number 1 question your prospect has: what’s in it for me? Once you can show them that your product or service will make their life better and easier in some way they will be much more likely to reach for their credit card.
It’s always important to answer that question for your prospect. You want to explain to them just what your product or service does, but more importantly, you want to use emotional terms to illustrate how that will benefit them.
For example, if you sell a course about weight loss, it’s not enough to say that your product will teach them the right way to exercise. You also have to show them, on an emotional level, how that will benefit them.
Use emotional words to let them know that your program can help them get the same, or better, results in less time. That leaves them more time to flaunt their hot new body. With less time spent working out, it’ll be easier to find the time to work out, etc.
These are basic marketing principles, but when it comes to videos there are some added things you need to keep in mind:
1. You don’t need to make a master piece of film making, just make sure that the images are clear and that you speak in a slow, easy to understand pace. Don’t stumble and stammer all over your words. If you make a mistake go back and do it again. It might be a pain but your visitors won’t listen to a gibberish mess so if you don’t do it right, you might as well not waste your time at all.
2. Keep the visuals easy to see and simple. They want to get to the point as soon as possible.
3. Keep the videos short, usually between 3 – 5 minutes. Any longer than that and your visitors will lose interest. This rule isn’t as important once they’ve signed up to your list and you’re offering them some sort of training videos these can be a little longer, though not by too much.
4. Don’t let your thoughts wander. Keep on track. If you meander all over the place in your video they will get disgusted and leave. It shows them that you don’t respect their time is valuable. It might help to make a general overview or script before you start. Don’t stick to a script so much that you sound unnatural but enough that you cover the main points quickly and clearly.
Implementing these video marketing concepts (as well as the concepts that aren’t directly related to video) and you will greatly improve your online marketing effectiveness. Remember, marketing is a process, you’ll need to take time to find what works and what doesn’t. This process can be frustrating, but it’s necessary. Once you’ve got it all dialed in you can pretty much make as much money as you want.
